His file shows he now has a wife as NOK

The problem is did he marry after his return from Gallipoli or did he marry in England?

That is the only record that shows he married?

One for your special touch

Mate,

"The Bega Budget (NSW), Wed 12 Apr 1916 (p.2):

Beck was his Troop officer while he was in the Composite Australian Light Horse Regiment during late 1915 early 1916. I wrote some thing on this unit some where on this site, which may shead more light into there actions?

Steve - he didn't actually marry until 1920 in Victoria:

The Argus (Melb, Vic), Wed 11 Aug 1920 (p.1):

When Roy married Ellen she states she lived at the Norfolk War Hosp Norwich?

Does that mean she was a nurse or a worker or support staff at that hosp?

Roy was in the same hosp for time suffering gas, so they may have met there while she was nursing him?

Any ideas

Hi Steve

Afraid I can't be of any help on this one.
I wasn't able to find any records to establish what her role was at the hospital.  I doubt she was a fully qualified nurse as she was only 23 at the time of marriage and she didn't give her occupation on the marriage certificate (which if a nurse I'd expect her to) - more likely she was domestic staff of some kind - and I agree, it's probably where they met.

Thanks Steve - I didn't yet have Maurice Hennessy - I've put together some info on him and attached it to his profile on the Discovering Anzacs website:
https://discoveringanzacs.naa.gov.au/browse/person/209537

The service number for the brother John Hollie Hennessy was 5181, not 5185
